PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELLBEING

The relationship between sports and physical wellbeing is well known, but what perhaps isn't so obvious, is the positive relationship sports and mental health can have. Just as little at 15 minutes of exercise can have numerous benefits: boosted brain power, increased wellbeing, increased confidence, improved confidence, reduced anxiety, increased self esteem, increased mood, reduced low mood, increased energy levels and, reduced stress levels. Just think how what a huge impact a 45 minute PE club could have on your afternoon!

We have all felt the afternoon slump. The end of the day is so near, yet so far from your reach. Perhaps you spent your lunchtime in your form room sitting, not being productive at all. Our lunchtime clubs are a perfect way to beat the afternoon slump catching up with you! Don't just take our word for it, it has been proved that you will feel more energised in your afternoon lessons after participating in a sports club - we've been there and done exactly that!

Walking down to the field and having to get changed putting you off? We've got you sorted, for those of you that want something a bit more accessible - why not try out something from the Active Lunchtime Box? Everyday we have members of the Year 9 Sports Leadership Team with the box outside of the gym, it's full of activates you can do with your friends and you don't even have to change out of your uniform.

There is an opportunity for everyone to take part and boost their mental wellbeing. Watch this space for more information on the positive correlation between sports and mental health!
